Degree show funding: possible Kickstart (oh-ho)
Hiya kittens,
Hope you're all having a lovely holiday so far.
I've just been made aware of this totally awesome funding site, Kickstarter, that we could possibly use to get funding for our degree show. Especially if we pimp it over our Twitter account (which I'll need to remember the password to and give everyone when we get back to uni). You can put rewards/incentives like posters/prints/t-shirts or whatever (or our fabulous callendar ;P ) on it in banded price brackets.
EDIT: Oh, wait you need a US bank account (anyone got one of those?)... but, I'm sure there's probably other similar sites/things out there for the UK too.
EDIT 2: OK, found IndieGoGo which is more UK/International friendly. This is probably the best bet if we end up going with this idea. :)

Dissertation
Hi girls!
Hope you're all having a good summer! I've been so lazy so far and just started thinking about my dissertation. Just wanted to ask a favour.
After feedback I realised I need to take it in a new direction. I'm doing it on the use of textiles/textile design in the fields of medicine and healthcare. My new direction is about textile thinking and its role in healthcare and medicine (all I can remember about the RSA project is "textile thinking" being mentioned all the time!). I just wanted to know if you'd be up for giving me your opinions on what textile thinking is (and maybe how it can overlap with areas like medicine)? I'm not quite at that stage yet but just wanted to check people would be up for it? I thought it would be great to get the opinions of the class because as undergraduate students we are the future of the area I am looking at.
Also does anyone know if "textile thinking" is a widely used term or if its just something our tutors say?
One last thing, Lori, I wondered if I would be able to talk to you at some point about your RSA project? I think it would be a great example.
Thanks & enjoy the rest of the summer! (shame its cloudy today :-( )
